When you’re overweight, travel overseas can seem like a distant dream. It’s something you plan on doing for a long time. You talk about it with friends and family and pour hours and hours into finding the ideal location. But I, like so many people who have struggled with their weight most of their lives, have always thought about travel as just another entry in the long list of activities I plan on doing once I lose enough weight.
This type of thinking, which has stemmed from years of fear and anxiety, is exactly what prevented me from turning that dream into a reality. The following three fears were the ones holding me back the most, and only after realizing what they were was I able to work on changing the way I think and actually do the things I’ve always wanted to do.
